That song was freaking amazing!! The album version was butchered and lame. Are there any other songs like this that are lame in one version and awesome in another? Why would they do that?!

I'm not sure if there are any more good examples, but I'll just have to agree with you, Like A prayer was amazing as the single version!

I think it works the other way sometimes too though... I prefer the album version of Judgement to the pre-release version...

couldn't agree more navitat. I absolutely love the single version of "like a prayer", but can take or leave the album version.
Another good example of the single version being better than the album must be "Can't stop fallin' in love", where although the album version is lovely, the single is just this PERFECT pop song, one of the best ever IMO.
I also tend to prefer single versions of Try This Shoot, Stop in the Name of Love (actually the remixes there), and FACE (TRISTESSE DE L'AMOUR MIX).

I also thought the singly version of Whats the Justice is a lot better than its album equivalent
